Training Sessions

5:30-6:30 will be for Beginners. This hour is for players with little or no experience. Skill focus will be on fundamental footwork (jump-stops, pivots), passing, beginning ball-handling skills, how to shoot layups, and shooting form.

6:30-7:30 will be for Intermediate players. Players in our intermediate group should be able to jump-stop and pivot without travelling, should be able to make good chest and bounce passes, should know how to shoot a layup off the dribble, and should have  basic understanding of shooting form. Skill focus will be on finishing at the rim (contested and full-speed layups), shooting form and footwork (off the catch and off the dribble), and introducing advanced ball-handling moves.

7:30-8:30 will be for Advanced players only. Players must show the ability to consistently make full-speed layups and have a good understanding of how to shoot off the catch and dribble without traveling. Players must be familiar with advanced ball-handling  moves and able to dribble between the legs, behind the back, etc. with relative ease. Players in our advanced group should be competing on an "A-team" level at their middle school or high school.

Expand All

We currently offer  three levels of training - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Players will be able to move “up” to the next skill level when they show mastery of the required skills and fundamentals at the previous level.

Our beginner’s group is for players with little or no experience. Coaches will  focus on teaching players fundamental footwork (jump stops, pivots, etc.), passing/catching, how to shoot layups, beginning ball-handling skills, and shooting form basics.

Our intermediate group is for players who have played multiple years/seasons and have a good understanding of the basics, but are trying to increase their playing time by showing a mastery of the beginner skills and a desire to continue to get better. Players in our intermediate  group should be able to jump-stop and pivot without traveling, should be able to make good chest and bounce passes while on the move (running or sliding), should know how to shoot (and make) a layup off the dribble, and should have a basic understanding of  shooting form. Skill focus in our intermediate group will be on finishing at the rim (contested and full-speed layups), shooting form and footwork off the catch/pass and off the dribble, and will provide an introduction to advanced ball-handling moves.

Our advanced group is for advanced players only! Players in this group must show the ability to consistently make full-speed layups and have a good understanding of how to shoot off the dribble and catch without traveling. Players must be familiar with advanced ball-handling  moves and be able to dribble between the legs, behind the back, etc. with relative ease. Advanced players should be competing on an “A-Team” level at their middle school or high school or have a recommendation from their school coach.

Skill development workouts are geared towards  players who want to improve their game and compete at a higher level. The are also great for beginners who want to learn the basics before their first larger event or league. We will push advanced players out of their comfort zone to help them reach their  full potential and help beginners fall in love with the game!
