3-on-3 League

In a 3-on-3 game, every player is forced to be a factor in the game on offense and on defense. Players will get more touches, more shots, and make more basketball decisions. This will lead to a higher basketball IQ and will prepare them for their 5-on-5 seasons.

With only three players on the floor, this league gives more responsibility to each teammate and forces players to learn the important skills of communication and accountability. This league will make your player better in all aspects of the game!

Registration

• Teams must provide their own uniform and coach.
• Team coaches must register their team online ($275).
• After a team is registered online, all players must fill out the online player registration and select their team from the drop-down menu. If your team is not listed in the drop-down menu, that means your coach has not completed the registration.
• Players will not be able to participate if their individual registration is not complete prior to their first game.
• Teams must have a MINIMUM of 4 players per team.

Format

• Teams will have a 1-hour time block each Sunday.
• Teams will play three games during their time block each day.
• All games will be 3-on-3.
• There will be a 3 minute break between games.
• Subs may enter the game following dead balls or made baskets.
• Teams will play two half-court and one cross-court game per day.
  • Game 1 - Half Court
  • Game 2 - Cross Court
  • Game 3 - Half Court
• Coaches will be allowed one “time-out” per contest.
• The schedule for Weeks 1-3 will be predetermined.
• Week 4 will be tournament style and seeded based on records.

Rules

• Half Court Games will be 15 minutes long or first to 21 points.
• Cross Court Games will be 7 minutes long or first to 21 points.
• Each team has one 30-second “time-out” per half-court game (clock will not stop).
• Time-outs cannot be taken in the final two minutes of game time.
• Free-throws will be 1-shot only and will be played as a live ball on a miss.
• The ball must be taken outside the three-point line after every change of possession (does not have to be the top of the key).
• Possession will change following a made basket (no “make-it, take-it”).
• Following a dead-ball or made basket, the ball must be “checked-up” and then passed to a teammate to start a possession.
• On a "check-up", defense must remain behind the 3-point line to give the offense an opportunity for a clean throw-in.
• Following a turnover or rebound (missed shot), the ball is live as soon as it is taken outside the three-point line (players do not have to pass it in).

Forfeiting Games/Weeks

• Forfeits could result in being removed from the league. 
• Teams are responsible for making sure that your time slot is filled each week of the league. If players on your original team are unable to play during a given week, additional players in the appropriate grade may register using the same link listed above. 
• Forfeiture during one week could result in being removed from the league.
• If your team is removed due to forfeiting a week, no refunds will be given.

Who is this for?

• All players, all skill levels
• Boys and Girls in Grades 3 to 8 are welcome to register as boys teams, girls teams, or as a coed team. All teams in the same division will compete against one another, regardless of gender.

What time do games start?

• 3rd/4th Grade COED: 1:00pm
• 5th/6th Grade GIRLS: 2:15pm
• 5th/6th Grade BOYS: 3:30pm
• 7th/8th Grade GIRLS: 4:45pm
• 7th/8th Grade BOYS: 6:00pm

Where will the league games take place?

• Games will be held at the Incarnate Word Academy High School (2920 S. Alameda)

Refunds

• Due to a limited number of teams able to participate, refunds are not available for this event.
